A day trip to explore the western coast of Sicily that overlooks the Aegadian Islands. From Trapani to the baroque city of Marsala, the extreme western tip of Sicily. The city is famous for its popular Marsala Wine and for the being the original landing site of the legendary Giuseppe Garibaldi during his infamous Expedition of the Thousand in 1860. First a visit to the Stagnone, a paradise for surfers and kite surfers, a beautiful nature reserve with white beaches and crystal clear waters.

We will walk the historic centre and visit the cathedral and its characteristic Fish Market, the most lively and colourful place in the city. At lunch time we will visit one of the most important wine houses in the area, and get to taste some of the famous Marsala wine, but also other excellent wines produced in the hills behind the city.

In the late afternoon we return to Trapani but not before stopping to enjoy the sunset on the wonderful salt pans of Trapani, relax and enjoy an aperitif among flamingos and windmills (active and working) as the sun descends behind the island of Favignana.
